FAQ
4K Surgical Monitor FAQ
Answers to common questions about SOIN 4K surgical monitors.
Is upscaled 1080p the same as native 4K?
No. Native 4K video originates at 3840 x 2160 resolution, while Full HD starts at 1920 x 1080. 1080p-to-4K processing can improve how a Full HD source is presented on a 4K display, but it does not create the same original image information as a native 4K source.
What is the difference between NEXARA and NEXARA X?
NEXARA provides SOIN’s core 4K surgical visualization capabilities. NEXARA X adds the S-VIXTA image-enhancement layer. Both series support 1080p-to-4K image enhancement; this is not exclusive to NEXARA X.
How do I choose between a 27-inch, 32-inch and 43-inch surgical monitor?
Consider viewing distance, available installation space, room layout and how the display will be viewed. The 27-inch format has the smallest footprint, 32-inch provides a balanced display area for many installations, and 43-inch offers a larger viewing area for larger-room or shared-viewing setups. Detailed specifications and mounting information are available on the individual product pages.
Can SOIN 4K surgical monitors work with Full HD or 1080p video sources?
Yes, when the source format, frame rate and interface are supported by the selected monitor. Both NEXARA and NEXARA X support 1080p-to-4K image enhancement for compatible Full HD sources.
What video inputs, outputs and multi-view functions are available?
Depending on the model, interface options can include HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI and SDI, together with video-output or loop-through functions on selected models. Multi-view options include Single View, Quad View, Side 3-Split, Bottom 3-Split, PIP and PBP. Exact connector quantities should be checked on the selected product page.
Can the monitors integrate with existing endoscopy and operating-room video systems?
Yes, when the source resolution, frame rate, signal format, interface and signal path are compatible. Other project factors can include cable distance, processors, recorders, secondary displays and mounting arrangements.
Do all SOIN 4K surgical monitors include SDI?
No. SDI availability varies by model. If SDI is required, check the interface specification of the selected monitor before choosing the final model.
Does SOINVISION support OEM, ODM and project-specific configurations?
SOINVISION can discuss project-based needs including branding, interface options, documentation and other OEM/ODM requirements. Available customization depends on technical feasibility, project scope and order requirements.
