Medical Display Manufacturers and Suppliers in Europe

Medical display manufacturers in Europe include Barco in Belgium, ECRA in Italy and Olorin in Sweden, which cover both diagnostic and surgical displays. Many others are medical IT companies, such as ACL and Rein Medical in Germany, for which operating room displays are one product line. Surgical and endoscopy companies, from KARL STORZ to Vimex in Poland, offer displays as part of their systems. National distributors then bring in these brands and others from outside Europe.

This guide has three parts: European brands, distributors country by country, and international brands with companies in Europe. Short notes and an FAQ follow. Here, Europe also includes the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine.

Key Takeaways

  • Start from the display type you need. In this guide, Barco, ECRA and Olorin are the European brands with diagnostic displays of their own. The others focus on the operating room.
  • In the operating room display group, most brands are medical IT companies. Their displays sit next to OR integration systems and medical computers.
  • Endoscopy and surgical equipment companies, from KARL STORZ to Vimex, offer displays that go with their own systems.
  • The national distributors listed here most often carry EIZO, followed by Barco and LG.
  • Two changes in 2026 matter if you use Rein Medical or JVC displays (see Changes in 2026).

Brands covering diagnostic, review and surgical displays

Barco, ECRA and Olorin have displays for the reading room as well as the operating room. If you need diagnostic displays from a European brand, these are the three to look at in this guide.

Barco

Barco NV · Belgium

Barco, based in Kortrijk and listed on the Brussels stock exchange, works in visualization, collaboration and networking for healthcare, enterprise and entertainment. Medical displays are a major product line of its Healthcare business. It supplies hospital radiology, pathology and surgical teams, including through distributors and system integrators. Barco also designs custom displays for equipment makers.

The range covers radiology, breast imaging, clinical review, surgery and digital pathology. The 33-inch Coronis OneLook has an I-Guard front sensor and SteadyGray and SteadyColor modes. For pathology, the MDPC-8127 is a 27-inch 4K display. One version of the MDSC-8532 surgical display has a built-in decoder for Nexxis, Barco’s platform for sending video between operating rooms. QAWeb Enterprise, listed for the Eonis 24 and MDPC-8127, runs calibration and quality tests automatically and keeps the results in one place.

Seven distributors in the supplier table carry Barco.

ECRA

ECRA S.r.l. · Italy

ECRA is a medical IT and visualization company in Battipaglia, in the province of Salerno, with a second office near Milan. It serves diagnostic imaging, radiology and the operating room. Its customers are hospital radiology and surgical departments, regional health authorities, and public and private providers. Besides its own displays, it sells Barco. It also handles installation, training and quality control, including calibration to the DICOM grayscale standard, which keeps images looking consistent across displays.

For diagnosis, the ECR-DG-6MT is a 37.5-inch curved screen split into two reading areas and a service area. It has a built-in front calibration sensor, backlight stabilization and web-based QA software. ECRA’s surgical displays include a 55-inch 4K installation. ECRA describes itself as the legal manufacturer of these displays on the Italian market.

Olorin

Olorin AB · Sweden

Olorin, in Kungsbacka, specializes in displays for special settings. Hospitals are one market; ships, planetariums and audiovisual installations are others. Its main market is Europe, especially the Nordic countries. Outside Sweden it sells through appointed distributors, and Nirolo in the Netherlands describes itself as an authorized distributor of the MedicLine range.

The medical range covers diagnosis (MCD271), clinical review (MLG240) and surgery (ML270G). The MCD271 has a built-in front sensor and calibration software and can connect to central QA software. The ML270G is a 27-inch 4K display that can show several sources at once. Its flat front glass is designed for disinfection. Olorin also sells Barco displays, including the Coronis OneLook and MDPC-8127.

Operating room display and medical IT companies

Most companies in this group build IT for hospitals: OR integration, video management and medical computers. Displays are one line among several. EVORAY is the exception; it started out making endoscopy displays. Several of these companies list wipe-clean sealed fronts, wall mounting, and sizes or finishes made to order. For the image features to compare, see How to Choose a 4K Surgical Monitor for Endoscopy & OR.

ACL

ACL GmbH · Germany

Owner-managed and mid-sized, ACL has built medical IT hardware near Leipzig since 1997. Its products are meant for operating rooms, intensive care and other areas with strict hygiene rules: medical PCs, displays, workstations, tablets and carts. Hospitals, clinics, device makers, distributors and software companies buy from it. ACL also does OEM and ODM work, building products that other companies sell under their own names.

The OR-MD displays come in Full HD and UHD for operating rooms, endoscopy and microscopy. They have an IP65-protected front (sealed against dust and water jets) and a sealed, fanless housing with a glass surface you can disinfect. Options include 12G-SDI (a professional video input), multi-touch and a calibrated DICOM preset. ACL says the relevant manufacturing steps take place in its own factory in Germany.

Rein Medical

Rein Medical GmbH · Germany

Rein Medical plans and delivers IT for hospitals and clinics. Its work covers OR integration, image and video management, all-in-one computers and input devices. It is based in Mönchengladbach, has subsidiaries in Switzerland and Spain, and has worked only in medical IT since 2010. In January 2026 JVCKENWOOD sold the company to the Czech Reinsberg Group.

Its CLINIO D displays stabilize their backlight automatically and have a DICOM grayscale setting for reviewing images that have already been reported. The front is IP65-protected and the housing has no vents, so it can be wiped down. OPERION wall displays from 32 inches can show two sources at once. Rein Medical states that it designs, develops and produces the OPERION family in Mönchengladbach. Its website still lists JVC medical displays, a line JVCKENWOOD is phasing out (see Changes in 2026).

NOORDUNG

DEVA GROUP d.o.o. · Slovenia

NOORDUNG is run by DEVA GROUP, a privately held company in Ajdovščina that says it began in 2018. Its medical work ties together video and information in the operating room. The VISOR system routes, records and streams OR video and can export it in DICOM format. The range also includes workstations, control panels and displays.

The OR displays come in 24, 32, 43, 55, 65 and 75 inches, with IP67 front protection. Touch and anti-reflection glass are options. For partners, NOORDUNG can change the branding, colors, materials and mounting dimensions.

Athena Medical

Acropolis Systems B.V. · Netherlands

Athena Medical, in Nijkerk, was founded in 1980 and has been part of VE-Systems since 2024. Its products are sold by Acropolis Systems B.V. Athena supplies medical IT systems: displays, panel PCs, Phoenix all-in-one computers, tablets, IT carts and wall-mounted OR computers. The company says hundreds of hospitals and cleanroom sites across Europe use them in operating rooms, intensive care and labs.

Its Dual Screen Operating Room Panel puts two 24-inch displays in one housing with a flat, easy-to-clean front. You can mount it on the wall or build it in. One configuration uses two medical-grade displays.

EMBITRON works in three fields: rehabilitation and physiotherapy equipment, endoscopy and surgical imaging (since 2018), and medical IT hardware (since 2021). It develops, makes, sells and services its own products. The headquarters and service center are in Vochov, with a management and sales office in Prague. Founded in 2003, EMBITRON sells to hospitals and rehabilitation centers and is open to OEM and ODM projects.

The MBT-1000 series includes a 32-inch 4K surgical display that shows both 3D and 2D images. It comes with anti-glare or anti-reflective protective glass, and some models stabilize their brightness automatically. EMBITRON also makes dental displays.

EVORAY’s surgical display is the S3281P, a 4K (3840 × 2160) model with a WLED backlight and an anti-glare hard-coated screen. In side-by-side mode, each of the two sources can use its own gamma or DICOM setting. You can also resize and move the picture-in-picture window.

Surgical and endoscopy equipment companies

For these companies, the display is part of a larger surgical system, sometimes sold to work with a specific camera. KARL STORZ, for example, offers the TM343 for use with its IMAGE1 S camera system. Another German endoscopy company, Richard Wolf, lists Sony and Canvys displays and describes testing them with its ENDOCAM systems. If you already use one of these systems, its maker’s display range is a natural place to start.

International brands in Europe

These brands are headquartered outside Europe but have their own companies or distributors here.

EIZO (Japan)

EIZO Corporation is headquartered in Japan and has had a German company since 2007. That year it bought the medical display business of Siemens A&D and set up EIZO GmbH. In 2014 it set up an operating room team in Germany to develop, produce and market customized OR products under the CuratOR brand. In 2016 it bought Panasonic Healthcare’s surgical and endoscopy display business. EIZO GmbH is now registered in Rülzheim, and in 2019 EIZO said its new site there brought together the German company’s management, research and development, production and warehousing.

EIZO is the brand that appears most often in this guide’s distributor table, mostly with its RadiForce range. FEEDER in France and Alstor in Poland also list its CuratOR displays.

Canvys (United States)

Canvys is a display business of Richardson Electronics, Ltd., a US company. Its European company, Richardson Electronics GmbH, is registered in Puchheim, Germany, and has a second site in Donaueschingen. The group lists Donaueschingen among its manufacturing locations, together with LaFox and Marlborough in the US and partner factories. Canvys offers a configurable 32-inch 4K display platform for makers of surgical and robot-assisted systems. The customer can choose the enclosure, interfaces, firmware, brightness and calibration, including DICOM.

Other international brands: LG, FSN, WIDE and Sony

LG medical displays are available from Meditek in Sweden, Ditec Medical in Spain and Divicon in Finland. Nirolo in the Netherlands supplies FSN and WIDE displays. Sony surgical displays appear in the catalog of Richard Wolf, the German endoscopy company (see equipment companies).

Notes for buyers and distributors

OEM and custom displays

If you need a display built into your own product or branded for your company, several companies here offer OEM work. Barco designs custom displays for equipment makers. ACL and EMBITRON take on OEM and ODM projects, and NOORDUNG adapts branding, colors, materials and dimensions. Among the endoscopy companies, Vimex and ECONT build equipment for other device makers, and WISAP has OEM and private-label customers. Canvys offers its configurable 32-inch 4K platform for surgical and robot-assisted systems.

Changes in 2026

  • January 2026: JVCKENWOOD transferred Rein Medical to the Czech Reinsberg Group.
  • February 2026: JVCKENWOOD announced that it is leaving the healthcare business. Under its plan, display production was to end in September 2026 and sales in December 2026, with maintenance and support continuing until December 2031.

Frequently asked questions

Which European companies offer diagnostic medical displays?

In this guide, Barco (Belgium), ECRA (Italy) and Olorin (Sweden) offer diagnostic displays under their own names. The other European brands here focus on surgical displays. EIZO, a Japanese brand with a German company, is the brand the distributors in this guide carry most often.

What is the difference between a diagnostic, clinical review and surgical display?

A diagnostic display is for reading and reporting images. A clinical review display shows medical images alongside patient information; check separately whether a given model is suitable for diagnosis. A surgical display shows the video from endoscopy, laparoscopy and other imaging systems to the surgical team. The manufacturer sets the intended use for each model. The surgical displays in this guide range from Full HD to 4K; 4K vs Full HD Surgical Monitors explains the difference.

Who owns Rein Medical now?

On January 30, 2026, JVCKENWOOD completed the transfer of all Rein Medical GmbH shares to the Czech Reinsberg Group a.s. Rein Medical is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Reinsberg, which it describes as part of BHM Group.

What is DIN 6868-157?

DIN 6868-157 is the German standard for acceptance and constancy testing of image display systems in diagnostic X-ray departments, including the room they are used in. The current edition, DIN 6868-157:2022-01, replaced the 2014 edition.

Is EIZO a European company?

No. EIZO Corporation is headquartered in Japan. Its German company, EIZO GmbH, is based in Rülzheim, where EIZO said in 2019 that management, research and development, production and warehousing had come together. In 2014 it set up an operating room team in Germany for its CuratOR products.

How do I find a medical display supplier in my country?

Start with the distributor table, which runs from Austria to the United Kingdom and shows the brands each company carries. Where a company states that it is an authorized or official distributor, the table says so. If your surgical display has to work with a specific camera or OR system, check that system maker’s own display range as well.
